The present situation of world furniture market
According to the cost price calculation (prices that are not included in the seller distribution when prices), the world furniture market consumption reached $200 billion, the degree of market liberalization (i.e. the relationship between imports and consumption) continues to rise, up from 18.7% in 1995 to 26.5% in 2001, the main importing countries are the United States, Germany, Britain, France, Japan and canada. From 1995 to 2000, the exports of the world furniture market grew rapidly, fell in 2001, and recovered in 2002.
In 2001, the import of the United States was in crisis, and it increased again in 2002. It is still the main driving force for the growth of the world furniture market, and furniture imports in the UK also rose sharply.
Two, world furniture market forecast
At the end of 2002, the world furniture market had a slight recovery. The rapid growth of the gross national product will stimulate its recovery. However, the stock market crisis, the instability of the unemployment rate and the war crisis are still seriously hampering its recovery.
In 2003, it is expected that the world furniture market will be slightly rebounded (at an average price, at an average of 2%). Among the seven western countries, the growth of the furniture market is expected to be almost zero because of the recession in Germany and Japan, which is basically the case in other countries. It is expected that there will be 17 international and regional furniture consumption growth will exceed 3%, of which two EU countries, Ireland and Greece; 7 central and Eastern European countries, namely Slovenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Russia Ross; 8 Asian countries: India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and China Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and South korea. In addition, the consumption of furniture in 5 countries and regions was flat in the same year. They were Argentina, Hongkong, Israel, Portugal and Turkey.
1. European furniture:
The European furniture industry is mainly made up of some small and medium-sized enterprises. Now, there are nearly 90000 enterprises, nearly one million employees and 700 thousand indirect employees. They mainly produce office furniture, bedroom furniture, living furniture, table furniture, kitchen furniture and so on. The furniture industry in Europe is very competitive in the international market and is favored by consumers with good quality and elegant style. After the early 1990s, the European furniture market entered a period of low speed development. The European furniture alliance reached 96 billion 600 million euros in 2000. Among them, Germany ranked the top 35 billion 200 million euros, Britain 12 billion 550 million euros, France 11 billion 920 million euros, and the top 50 European furniture companies accounted for 19% of the total output. In terms of per capita furniture expenditure, the top four are Germany, Austria, Luxemburg and Denmark.
The furniture industry outside Europe is developing rapidly. In 1995, the European furniture export market accounted for 6% of the non European countries. By 2000, this proportion had reached 13%. We noticed that this figure is extremely unbalanced in the furniture development type. For example, in chair industry, this proportion is close to 30%, while kitchen and office furniture are very low. Due to the gradual increase of production cost, European furniture is facing the situation of production and sale disengagement, and manufacturing sector begins to transfer to Asia and Eastern Europe. At present, there are thousands of independent retailers in Europe (there are 1.8 in Italy and 3000 in Germany). Considering the import of furniture from China, Indonesia and Philippines as a whole, the sales profit is considerable. The sales price of salesmen can increase 3 times to 4 times. During the 2002 the eighth session held in Shanghai Chinese international furniture exhibition, Germany organized a huge procurement delegation to negotiate.
The import and export of Chinese furniture to the European Union has increased rapidly. From 1996 to 1999, China's furniture imports increased from 29 million 480 thousand US dollars to 72 million 290 thousand US dollars, with an average annual growth rate of 56%. Over the same period, China's furniture exports to the EU increased from 487 million 420 thousand US dollars to 926 million 350 thousand US dollars, with an average annual growth rate of 38%. But China furniture exports to Europe is still the rattan furniture and furniture for low-grade practical; in the high-end furniture stores, furniture China position is still low. As the world's largest economy, the European Union has a mature and huge market, with a high consumption level and a large demand for furniture. It is a potential big market worthy of development. Chinese furniture manufacturers should pay attention to improving the design and quality of their own products and opening up the high and middle grade furniture market with high profit.
The future furniture market in Europe will tend to develop large and beautiful furniture stores that provide more services and suggestions. IPEA, according to the 2001 major furniture chain store sales record list of Europe's ten largest furniture chain sales group ranked as follows: Conforama, But, Ikea (IKEA), Fly, Monsieur, Meuble, Atlas, Mobilier de France, Camif La, Redoute, Roche-Bobois. At present, in the European furniture market, besides Sweden's Ikea furniture running in various ways in other countries, furniture enterprises in other countries are changing gradually. Faced with the expansion of large furniture companies, many small, independent furniture retailers have joined together to reorganize. However, different countries are different in the way of joint operation: they join in a furniture brand by means of chain operation (mainly in Spain), or form a common group, centrally purchase, concentrate on finance and marketing business (mainly in Germany). According to experts from the French furniture industry association, 20% to 25% of the European furniture market will be controlled by premium brands in the next 5 to 10 years (10% to 15% now). Therefore, if we want to enter the furniture market, we must win the high quality and large scale, and we should have
